2017 BDNY

11月12/13日にニューヨークで開催されたBDNY(Boutique Design New York)への初出展。
韓国のLEE designと共同出展です。
Designers Free participated in BDNY (Boutique design New York) this year, held on 12-13 November in New York for the first time, in collaboration with LEE design studio, Korea.

そして下のはNYCの風景。澄み切った青空、しかし最低気温-3度。
And next is a view of NYC, clear blue sky but temperature is -3℃.

2017Cersaie2

Cersaieで見かけた色々な質感の表情です。
まずファブリック
Next is various teture of ceramic tile in Cersaie.
First is fabrics.



石、とても綺麗な模様です。
Stones. Beautiful patterns.



その他の質感。
Other textures.





次のは古いけど目新しい、テラゾー柄。いろんなシチュエーションに使えそうです。
Next is terrazzo, old product but have a new twist. It could use various situations.

2017Cersaie

９月後半にBolognaで開催されたセラミックタイルの展示会Cersaie。
様々な柄、質感をセラミックで表現しています。
インテリアの面材全てがセラミックに置き換えられる可能性を感じます。
Cersaie ceramic tile exhibition held on the end of September at Bologna.
The ceramic expresses various texture and pattern.
I sense a possibility that ceramic will take big share of interior face material.





次のは我々のデザイン。
やはり何となく和の雰囲気が有ります。意識してないので、日本人なんだと再認識してしまいます。
Next photo is our design. There is something about wa – Japanese culture.
I again realized that I am Japanese after seeing this product.

Indigo 2017 indigo 2017

９月６日から８日までBrusselsで開催されたIndigoでのブースの様子。
It is our booth at Indigo show held on 6th-8th September at Brussels.



Indigo展自体は盛況な方なのですが、３日間の会期の内、お客さんが来られるのは、会期の前日(準備の日)が最も多く、初日までで殆ど採用されるデザインは決まってしまいます。
以下はその会場周りの石のテクスチャー。
Indigo itself was good attended, but preparing day (one day before the show) is more visitor than any other days. Adoption of the design has been decided already before the opening day.
Followings are stone textures surrounding fair building.

2017 Neocon Chicago 4

Neoconの会場Merchandise Martの一階床に使われてるテラゾー。
意識して見てなかったのですが、改めて見ると美しいです。

そして下のはChicago O'Hare空港の床とShedd Aquariumの銅像のベースに使われてたテラゾー。
テラゾーに対する意識が変わります。

これらはManningtonの新作。
墨流しの様なラフな模様とその共柄のカーペット。
These are new works of Mannington.
It looks laugh marbling pattern (suminagashi ) tile and the same pattern of carpet.

Neoconはコマーシャルの展示会で、オフィスで使われるあらゆる商品が展示されてます。
特に床材、カーペットは、柄の動向が見えて来ます。写真は目に付いたカーペットの柄。
NeoCon is a trade show of commercial design industry. All kinds of products to be used in the office are exhibited.
We see the trend of pattern, especially on the flooring market.
The photos are carpets that attracted my attention.

2017 Neocon Chicago

Neocon Chicagoのブースの様子。
ビジティングでは昨年まで3回来てたのですが、今年からブースを持ちました。韓国のLEE Design Studioとの共同出展。

Fuori Salone,Tortona地区のMoooi。
壁紙のAlteと組んで展示してます。
Moooi at Fuori Salone, area Tortona.
Moooi collaborated with Arte wallpaper.

私達の壁紙デザインが使われてました。
Our design was used for wallpaper.

これらは木の変わった意匠です。
合板にスリットをいくつも入れて仕上げたパネルです。
色もゴールドで質感も高くゴージャスに感じます。
Following are interesting wood design.
Plywood panels dressed with lots of slit
Color of gold and strong texture give gorgeous feeling.

下は以前石材屋で目にした、石材カット台に置いてたコンパネの、カット後の模様ですが全く同じ表情です。
捨てられていく物が見方を変えると、こうも素晴らしい内装材になるんですね。
I took this photo when I visited stone factory in the past.
This plywood was left on a stone cutting machine table. But look, it has a same surface.
It's nice to know the throwaway goods is also fine interior material.

次は本木にルーターで幾何模様を付けたもの。
新鮮です。
Next is real wood engraved geometric pattern.
Very fresh.

セラミックタイルで気になった物。この微妙な凹凸感が良いです。
These ceramic tiles drew my interest. It has nice delicate embossing.

次のはLaminamのスクラッチ柄。ここまで割り切った柄、さすがです。
Next are scratch pattern from Laminam. Rational design and great.

今年は石目柄が目に付きます、それもアーティステｲックな物が。
それに非常に良く出来たインクジェットのセラミックタイル石目柄も多く使われてます。
Artistic stone pattern stand out in an exhibition this year.
And many ceramic tiles use also stone pattern printed by inkjet system.

今年は照明の年。
私の専門外ですが、映るシルエットや壁面のエンボスが照明でどの様に変わるか等とても参考になります。
One of this year’s events is lighting.
Lighting is out of my field, but it is very helpful to know how changes silhouette or embossing of the wall by the lighting.



次のは歪んだ反射板を下に置いて、光が壁面に映る模様を見せてます。
It shows the pattern reflected on the warped reflecting plate placed under the wall.

Milano Salone視察と撮影にMilanoへ。
写真はPorta Garibaldi近くに建った高層アパートと壁面を覆った緑。
I went to Milan to visit Milano Salone and shooting.
Photos are high-rise apartment near Polta Geribardi and ivy-covered wall.

2017 Domotex

Hanoverで開催されてるDomotex。Heimtextilの後、日帰り視察です。
写真はエンボスの表情。
One-day trip to Domotex, Hanover.
Next photos are the surface of emboss.



下の写真は炭色にしてエンボスだけで見せてます。
Brings a superb embossment consist of nothing but carbon color.


次のはペルシャ絨毯。
この緻密さとバランスは凄いですね。
Next are Persian carpets.
This extreme precision and proportion are absolutely amazing.

2017 Heimtextil

2017 Heimtextil出展の様子と今年のメインになったCroatiaの石積み。
デザイナーホールは結構人が入ってる感じなのですが、展示会自体の集客は落ちてる気がします。
下の写真はraschのブースにて私どものデザイン。
This year’s (2017) our booth at Heimtextril, Frankfurt. Next photo is this year’s prime display, Croatian’s masonry wall.
Though Designer’s hall was good attended, I felt a general lowering of exhibition’s guests.

2016 Marmomacc Verona

昨年に続き2回目の視察です。
相変わらず、巨石のそれも美しい模様の大理石に圧倒されます。
Second visit to Marmomacc, the same as last year.
I was overwhelmed by huge, but beautiful patterns of marble stones as usual.






この様に表面の加工跡を残すのも味が有って良いです。
To leave a processing trace like these are unique.

2016 Cersaie Bologna2

和、それも築地をテーマにしたPerondaのブース。
欧米人が考える日本のイメージと彼らなりのアレンジの仕方がよく分かります。
WA – Japanese style. Tsukiji Fish Market is the theme of Peronda’s booth.
We learn how the westerners think of Japan and their way of arrangement.

2016 Cersaie Bologna1

Bolognaで開催されるセラミックの展示会Cersaieの視察です。
なかなか見応えが有ります。
Cersaie International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile, held in Bologna, Italy.
There is quite impressive.


これは今流行りのファブリック調タイル。
Trendy fabric tone ceramic.


ライティングをうまく計算したデザイン。
Design that the lighting effects has been well calculated.


そしてこれは私どものデザイン。和っぽいニュアンスが有ります。
And this is our design. Its create the charm of Japanese nuance.

Helsinki Design Week

Indigoの後ヘルシンキへ、Helsinki Design Weekの視察。
思ってたより盛況です。
Milano Saloneの「これでどうだ」的なショーとは違い、もっと人に近い感覚があります。
「主役は人」の感じが伝わってきます。
After Indigo exhibition, I made a tour of Helsinki Design Week.
It is very well attended than I expected.
It is very humanly and quite different from spectacular show, Milano Salone.
I felt a feeling that the title role is human.








次はヘルシンキ街中での様子。

これは港に出てる市で、お土産屋等に紛れてたお店なのですが、とても洗練されたデザインのテーブルウエアーを作ってました。
This store stands in the souvenir shops at market in port side and sells good-quality table wares with a tasteful design.
